Art Exhibit Shooting

There was a Sunday night shooting outside of an art exhibit in Texas. The exhibit was pointed towards radical Muslims, which made them furious. Police showed up to the Curtis Culwell Center where the shooting took place and killed both gunmen. It is unknown if this shooting had ties to an event hosted by American Freedom Defense Initiative that awarded 10,000 dollars to the best cartoon depicting the Prophet Muhammad. They identified one of their suspects as Elton Simpson. It is believed that Elton and the other gunmen are roommates and authorities are now investigating an apartment in Phoenix.

Doctor Oz

Dr. Mehmet Oz, a very popular talk show host, is being bashed by other doctors for his “unacceptable” position on faculty of Columbia University. Other doctors are harshly accusing him of not maintaining moral integrity in his television work, but Oz is trying to fight back. He claims that he is sharing his knowledge and beliefs with his viewers and is trying to help them and answer any questions they might have. Physicians and doctors around the world are contacting Columbia University about their concerns expressing their disapproval of the television host’s faculty position. They believe he has said misleading things that are biased, but as for now Columbia University stands by their decisions.

Hollows on Mercury

NASA's probe has recently captured new images on Mercury. They have found features on the surface that they call hollows, known as “irregularly shaped flat floored depressions.” They are over ten meters deep and barely a kilometer wide. The scientists, including David Blewett who is from John Hopkins Applied Physics Laboratory, gathered from this observation that Mercury is losing some sodium and potassium, because those are lighter weight. These hollows surprised scientist and they weren’t something they expected to see. These hollows are fairly young, because of the small size. The scientist says they would have eroded over time, which they have not done yet.

Ted Cruz's Announcement.

Ted Cruz, senator of Texas, has been the first republican to announce that he will be running for president. He went to the largest Christian university in the world in Lynchburg Virginia on March 23, 2015 to pitch his presidency and connect personally with the audience. He promised a better future for America and told his family history. Trying to emphasize that everybody has hard times, but there is hope for America’s future. Another expected bid for office is one Jeb Bush. Jeb Bush is a republican governor of Florida and expected to run for office.

Carlsville Drug Bust

Three men were arrested on March second by the Drug Task Force of Door County and Kewaunee along with a canine unit for allegedly maintaining a drug house in Egg Harbor Wisconsin. The three men were Ofelio Garcia Jauregui, Luis Garcia Jauregui, and Jose Apolinar Jauregui-Sanchez. They are now being charged with possession of cocaine with intent to deliver, delivery of cocaine, possession of marijuana with intent to deliver, and keeping a drug trafficking site. The arrest came after a lengthy investigation of three months. These men are now incarcerated in the Door County Jail and no bond hearings have been set.

Missing Tanzanian Toddler

Recently in Tanzania an albino toddler has gone missing. Police have been suspecting he was murdered and his parts of his body have been used for witchcraft. Two unknown people allegedly came into the house and attacked the boy's mother with machetes and then took the child. This occurred this past Saturday. The regional chief police’s report said, “Two bandits armed with machetes stormed into their kitchen, they hit his mother with machetes and took away the baby.” The father and the husband is now a suspect because he was in the area at that time. They suspect his body parts have been used for witchcraft because 74 or more Albinos have been murdered in Tanzania since the year of 2000. People even sell body parts in Tanzania and according to Yahoo the average going rate for an entire body is 75,000 dollars.
